Summer has arrived and garden party season is upon us! Hummus is super easy to make and often much tastier (a cheaper) than the store bought ones.
These hummus recipes, Classic & Beetroot, make for the perfect garden party nibbles with crackers, tortilla chips or veggie crudités!!
HUMMUS (x2 WAYS)

INGREDIENTS
Classic Hummus
- 2 x 400g tins of chickpeas, plus the water from one tin
- 3 Tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste)
- 115ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- Black pepper, to taste
Beetroot Hummus
- 2 x 400g tins of chickpeas
- 3 Tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste)
- 2 small cooked beets (I use the pre-cooked ones)
- 80ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- Black pepper, to taste
DIRECTIONS
- Pulse all ingredients in a food processor/blender until smooth
*Add olive oil gradually until you achieve your desired consistency
* For the Classic Hummus add the water from the chickpeas gradually to ensure the consistency isn’t too runny
